The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mainecoalitiontostopsmartmeters.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/PUC-FInal-Decision-12-19-14-Reduced-Size.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">82 page\u00a0decision<\/a>\u00a0was accompanied by a list of scientific studies accepted into evidence as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mainecoalitiontostopsmartmeters.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Schedule-A-to-Decision-of-12-19-14-Scientific-Studies.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Schedule A<\/a> and by a\u00a0list of lay-witness summaries as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mainecoalitiontostopsmartmeters.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Schedule-B-to-Decision-of-12-19-14-Lay-Witness-Summaries.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Schedule B<\/a>. The decision includes an opinion from each commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Littell wrote approximately 62 pages of thoughtful but ultimately tortured opinion. He thought well of our experts,\u00a0recognized RF sensitivity was an issue for some people and thought those affected who supplied a letter to this effect from their\u00a0physician, should have a no-cost opt out using a smart meter without transmitter [as distinct from the bulk of opt out customers who\u00a0retain their analog meters]. The crux of Littell&#8217;s opinion was that while smart meters emit RF and RF may have biological effects,\u00a0the exposure from smart meters is relatively small [when compared with a cell phone] and does not pose a credible risk of harm.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Vannoy&#8217;s shorter opinion reflects the typical industry view where he disregarded the evidence and expert testimony we\u00a0supplied and thought Maine should defer to the obsolete and irrelevant FCC guidelines from 1996.
